a mobile

When fully recharged, battery lasted max 2 minutes of conversation… it is like on the sailing vacations when speed of the sailing boat drops under 1 knot… it is over the edge, you must do something. And so it was. I got myself a new mobile phone. Nokia 6020 it is. It has everything I need (handy, small and light) and even more. I bought also the PC-connecting cable and I feel like a modern woman now ;)). I have some problems with connecting mobile to PC, though. Program Nokia PC Suite worked yesterday but today it doesn’t even connect to the phone. Anybody with similar problem out there?

No, I did not forget to put the cable in and yes, I did switch it on.

I did that. The thing is that in the morning I start up my pc, than connect the nokia and it works but then if I want to repeat the connecting after disconnecting the nokia, it just doesn't work any more. If I restart the PC, it works again. Wierd, I think.

No really, try it again (and be patient) it works, go there, unclick the connection, click it again (with all that OK buttons and stuff mumbo-jumbo) and wait (should need about 30-60 sec). I'll look again tomorrow to tell you exact procedure if you'll need it. But yes, it's just wierd.

Sorry, doesn't work for me, I waited 5 minutes, 5 times. You use English or Slovenian 6.0 version? Yes please, I would appreciate exact procedure, because apparently I am doing something wrong.

The procedure stucks at the window: Connect cable - Please connect your cable to the computer and your mobile phone to the cable. I do this, and then wait... after 5 minutes I quit.

OK. I connect the cable to computer. Then I connect the mobile to cable (it says on the screen of mobile something like connected). Then I open Nokia connection manager (I have SLO Nokia PC suite 6.41.6). I don't have authentic Nokia cable, but some other manufacturers USB cable - I have to connect through serial cable connection (DKU-5). I believe if your cable us USB authentic Nokia cable you have to use DKU-2 option, or you may try also the other one. Of course you have to use proper serial port (through confugure button) to use DKU-5 cable. I unclick the connection, wait a few moments, click it again, and after some moments the connection is on.

But you're right, it's a beutiful piece of software, a really goodlooking one. It's just not user friendly and helpful. Somehow M$ style. If it doesn't work just bang on the wall with it until it's surely not working, it won't bother you anymore ;o)

I have my trick now: If I want to connect the mobile and PC I have to do it before the PC is switched on. Have no idea why but it works.
